Post #23: Sea Day #2

Below is from our sea day (not too many pictures that day!)

Woke up just before 7:30
Got up grabbed Cal mug and computer
Went to WiFi hotspot (grabbed coffee on the way)
Suspense was almost painful
Worse than Xmas morning
People had already ‘reserved’ lounge chairs by pool
And it was very cool…not a promising pool lounging day
Logged in to find out Cal had won in a thriller…WOW!!!
Emails from the kids (thanks kids!)
Opened several articles in different windows, then logged off.
Read them for free that way.
Met L/R for breakfast in main dining room
Back to cabin for a quick nap then to talk about upcoming ports
Very informative and not just about shopping
Tried doing blog but internet too slow (pictures would not upload)
Walked around a little then back to cabin
Advantage of cabin with a balcony on a sea day
When cool by the pool
Just stay on your deck and relax (or whatever)
Grabbed a bite to eat around 3:00pm
Ran into Gerry and Marcia (of course)
Had low-carb pasta, pizza and beer on the fan tail
Back to cabin for more relaxing
Then to the aqua spa for a while (TOO MUCH RELAXING!)
Before donning the formal attire and getting pix taken
Another drink in the lounge listening to big band music
No spilled drinks this time, fun watching people dressed up
Off to dinner
Great veal chop (just like prime rib)
Show after dinner. Singers with cirque du solei (or whatever)
Got our hour back, so off to WiFi hotspot
Got pictures loaded from Kusadasi then back to cabin
Lights out right at Midnight
Naples tomorrow, then Rome for two days, then Florence
This will be four fast moving, fun, leg dumbing days!

Post #22: Kusadasi Day 2

Bird Island in lights from our room (oops, I mean cabin)

Walking toward it in the morning
It's scenic, but there isn't much there when you arrive
But at least there is a view back to the ship.Above and below: Shopping at the bazaar

Only agenda item was to walk to Bird Island before the heat hit.

Plan to meet Rich and Lynn at 9:00am to head out
Aqua Spa café is SO handy…91 steps from our cabin door
Good source for coffee, fruits, and juices
And healthy dinners…but WHY do that!?!
Very leisurely walk to the Island (now connected with isthmus)
Not much there there. Scenic, and when you are being lazy that is fine.
Did some shopping at the bizarre bazaar on the way back.
Another pin for my hat,
and a cheap and genuine calf (veal?) leather Turkish wallet
(everything is cheap from now on after buying that silk rug yesterday!)
Janna bought more Xmas gifts (lucky girls)
Back to the ship in time for a burger and beer by the pool
Sometimes that is just the BEST thing…
Lounged around the rest of the day
JB had a couple of 25 min spa treatments
SB worked on the blog and hit the aqua spa (drainingly relaxing!)
Met R/L for drinks at 7:30 (this could be habit forming)
Informal night, wore my Cal tie for good luck at Oregon today
I then proceeded to knock over my top heavy Mudslide
Into Lynn’s Singapore Slinging, which she tried to catch
And spilled it all over herself…and had mild cut on her arm.
What a KLUTZ (me, not Lynn…duh)
We all cleaned up, she got a new drink, then off to dinner
Another fun dinner. Most had Rack of Lamb.
Small portions, so we asked for more…oh my.
Ask and ye shall receive. We couldn’t eat it all.
Such a problem.
After dinner Gede (our waiter) did a fork balancing trick
Quite good. Like 8 forks and 3 toothpicks…all on top of a wine bottle
We had several he could have used ;-)
Heading back to the cabin for bed, Checked out sports bar
Hoped beyond hope the Cal game could have been on.
Nope, only ESPN…World’s Strongest Man Contest.
Got laptop and went to WiFi hotspot (bummer I can’t get it in cabin)
Early 2nd quarter game, tied at 3.
Too expensive to keep checking.
Back to cabin.
How I went to sleep I don’t know.
